Hi, bitches. Kristina here.
Like so many of you, I've been rocking a solid shampoo bar in my shower since 2022, and also like you, I've been loving the ease of not having to do the silly dance of:
- There might be a little bit more in this plastic bottle!
- I should rinse it out to get every last drop!
- Washing my hair with cold bottle-rinse-water isn't great!
- It's been two weeks of this. Is there still a little bit more in this plastic bottle?
It was a very silly dance. And the bottle ultimately ended up in the bin.
While I stopped doing the silly shampoo dance three years ago, I was still going through it with my conditioner. That rinse-water was cold and slimy.
Until last month, when Katie's fresh solid conditioner bars rolled off the line and into my shower.
Can I get a holler for no 👏 more 👏 plastic 👏 in 👏 my 👏 shower?
She and I have both been really pleased with our new formulation. There's a tiny learning curve - namely, a wet conditioner is slippery as a live fish - but we've chosen a really cool geodesic dome-shaped mold to make it more grippy.
It delivers the nourishing butters and oils you'd expect from us - in this case shea butter and a rotating cast of seed oils depending on the formulation you choose - and then it emulsifies beautifully with your rinse water and leaves your hair soft and shiny.
I'll level with you - I do notice a little less body when using these bars.
I have SUPER fine, flat hair, and I struggle to get any body at all, ever. I really only get it when my hair is damaged from the salon and it's so coarse and dry it sticks together.
Kind of like velcro. (Hott.)
It took me about a week of using our conditioner bars to adjust my mindset, understanding that the slightly diminished body is a positive, not a negative. A net win for my damaged, dry-ass hair.
I'm looking forward to seeing how using this conditioner bar that's actually nourishing over several months adds up. Maybe less breakage? This girl can hope.
Conditioner bars drop April 15th. Make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter (link in footer 👇) for all the pertinent deets.
